New Garbage Record Book requirements for vessels below 400 GT per 1st of May 2024.

New Garbage Record Book requirements for vessels below 400 GT per 1st of May 2024.

On May 1st, 2024, a significant regulatory shift comes into effect for vessels embarking on international voyages with a 100 gross tonnage or above: they are now obligated to maintain a garbage record book alongside their existing garbage management plan.

The requirement for mandatory garbage record books, was already in place for vessels above 400 GT. From today on, it is extended to smaller vessels of 100 GT and above. This change was enacted by Resolution MEPC.360(79). Vessels certified to transport over 15 people also fall under the scope of this new requirement.

Do you have your garbage record books in place? We can provide you with both a paper and digital version of the Garbage Record Book.

The paper version can be easily ordered via our webshop

The digital Garbage Record Book is available in D-Log, our digital logbook solution. The record book is Flag approved. Interested in the digital version? Please contact our digital team (digital@datema.nl) to hear more about our solutions with D-Log.
