Fomtec AFFF 6% is an aqueous film forming foam concentrate (AFFF) consisting of a blend of fluorocarbon-, hydrocarbon surfactants and various solvents and stabilisers. Only C6 Pure fluorosurfactants are used in Fomtec AFFF-formulations. Fomtec AFFF 6% utilises the unique film forming effect to cut off oxygen supply to the fire and the oleophobic properties of the foam enables a stable foam blanket to suppress reignition of the fire.

Features
- Short chain C6 Pure fluorochemistry
- Approved to EN 1568, MED, ICAO level B, GOST
- Suitable for Class A and B fires
- Low and medium expansion foam
- Freeze protected versions available

Description
Fomtec AFFF 6% should be used at 6% proportioning (6 part concentrate and 94 parts of water). May be used with all water types. Fomtec AFFF 6% can be stored as premix when blended with fresh water. For use on Class A type fires, induction ratio of 1% to 2% is recommended depending on application and discharge device.

Application
- Fomtec AFFF 6% is tested according to EN 1568 for use on class B hydrocarbon fuel fires such as oil, diesel, gasoline and aviation fuels.
- Fomtec AFFF 6% can be used with all kinds of low and medium expansion devices.
- Fomtec AFFF 6% is effective against class A fires such as wood, paper, textiles etc.
- Fomtec AFFF 6% is also certified for marine applications according to IMO Circ. 1312 and Marine Equipment Directive (MED).
- Tested and approved according to International Civil Organization (ICAO) level B for use in aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) applications.

Typical applications include high risk installations such as:
- Storage tanks, process areas and loading racks
- Waste and recycling industry
- Marine vessels and offshore platforms
- Airports and ARFF-vehicles
- Suitable for mobile firefighting by use of aspirating foam dis-charge devices such as foam branchpipes and monitors, where application rates and technique can be adjusted to the specifics of each incident.
- If the product is used in a fixed system the design should be based on recommended minimum application rates, application duration and type of discharge devices.
